Dancong order recently arrived and can safely say that the old bush mi lan xiang is awesome! Superb in both aroma and flavour potency with durable infusions. Not at all a finicky tea; seems forgiving to a variety of water temps and infusion times.
I'll have to get back to you about the others.

Re: Shipping Delays on tea
I was impressed that my order from Taiwan Tea Crafts arrived very quickly. They are offering free DHL expedited delivery on >$75 orders.
So from Taiwan to UK it was 7 days overall from point of purchase. Kudos to them!

Re: Yancha Vendors: Highest Grade vs Bang for Buck Vendor Recommendations
Both of those teas you just mentioned are claimed to be “Zhengyan” as well, despite costing less than $.50 per gram. Is the consensus here that all of these vendors (including Wuyi Origin and TheTea.pl, which folks here seem to like) are just lying about the source of their tea? Or are there differ...

Re: Is refrigeration for Japanese green tea necessary?
What about if you keep the whole operation inside the fridge. I.e transfer the leaves into the brewing vessel in the fridge. Rather than taking the pack out to normal air temps and opening it there. Wouldn't this reduce the effect of warm air entering the package? You will have the fridge door open ...

Re: Yancha Vendors: Highest Grade vs Bang for Buck Vendor Recommendations
In terms of bang for your buck - i am certainly enjoying wuyiorigin Mei Zhan and Qi Lan, which are two of their budget offerings. I think they compare well to their higher grade. The higher grade does show in their unique profiles, body, longevity, but the budget are in no way lacking for potent fla...

Re: Taiwan Tea Harvest - Winter 2019
Every tea vendor would like to claim that each harvest is better than whatever has preceded it. However no honest vendor can claim that of the 2019 winter harvest; the teas range from poor to good, with far more in the former category than the latter one. The weather was extremely dry resulting a l...

I ended up ordering a few things from teafromtaiwan, including the da yu ling sampler. I understand they are a well established vendor so should be consistent. Looking forward to it! Re: Mei leaf
I think it’s very interesting how many forum members are reacting here. Almost as if they were angry with MeiLeaf. Still...only 1 person mentioned anything remotely specific about their tea. I’ve heard a lot of suggestions for Seven Cups inparticualr the Biluochun. I have been unimpressed by SevenC...

Re: Introduce Yourself
thanks for the kind welcome. To be honest i actually have no clue how i first started. I must have seen something online, and then shopped around and ordered some. I do remember it was a Mi Lan Xiang Dancong that first grabbed me -- i realized how great tea could actually be! I would say overall the...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hi all
Being in the uk I have been a tea drinker my whole life!
But past 3-5 yrs or so I have gotten into loose leaf tea - gong fu style.
My favourite teas are usually oolong.
Particularly Dancongs and Taiwan oolongs. Though I have tried all sorts.
Look forward to learning more.
