Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Gyokuro should be very forgiving and not prone to bitterness.... what parameters are you using? This vendor recommended steeping for 2.5 to 3 minutes which seems kind of long compared to what I’m used to. I lowered the steeping time to 1 minute and 1.5 on the second cup and the taste is much better...

Re: Yixing

And here's a fairly unhelpful comparison between a well-used hongni and one of these pots. Edit: also added perhaps a slightly better comparison between well-used 60s hongni and one of the well-used pre-factory pots. Andrew ./download/file.php?id=14823 ./download/file.php?id=14822 Thanks - it is mo...

Re: Yixing

Awesome! 😍 I love the shuiping as well. 60's? Thanks; these ones are all pre-factory pots in slightly-different interpretations (I'd call them dainty, chunky and puffy from front to back). The one at the back of the group photo used to be even more dull than the one in the middle, so I'm looking fo...

Qihong Songzhen from Likou, Qimun, Anhui, via Daxue Jiadao. so lovely. ./download/file.php?id=14789 I had only tried Keemun along time ago when I was exploring Teas for the first time because I could no longer get my usual SeaDyke Ti Kuan Yin, at the time I had no idea about things like burying tem...

Re: Yixing

I picked up a super dirty Xi Shi pot recently with the thought of Nian Gao Tu in mind. Might be due to tea stain, the whole pot had a light brown hue on the outside. After a deep cleaning session, it appears to be Hong Ni possibly from the late 70s - early 80s. What do you all think? I apologize fo...

Re: How Much Tea Do You Consume Per Day?

Recently had to deal with family emergency- resulting in about 8 days with no tea. Because i was quite depressed and distracted- i did not have any desire for tea either and only went back to it slowly - a few grams every day. I noticed i was absolutely exausted - a combination of factors. It took a...

interesting that the extra funk is associated with the cherry afterwards... I would not have expected that.
Nor did i. Its an interesting tea - but ultimately not something i will actively seek out.

I think its much kinder to the gut than shu or lb - that often just triggers the runs for me
