The gaiwan you linked is my cup of tea
However, I couldn't find myself spending a few hundred bucks on a Gaiwan unless I met the painter in-person. Here is my poor man version.

Re: Your day in tea
Working on Spring cleaning and organization today. I found a left over bag of Hojicha from 2018 in a ziplock bag along with other tea samples. Surprisingly, it's still pretty good. Anyone tried to age Hojicha?

Re: Henan purple clay and other non-yixing zisha
I think zisha from other areas other than yixing maybe more common in the market because it cost less. Often we see a term Benshan, which means zisha from Yixing. Anything that’s not Benshan can be assume from other areas outside. Yixing did import zisha from other areas to make Yixing pots. Bensha...

Re: Henan purple clay and other non-yixing zisha
Oh wow, nice pot! Great to see one. Might be a bit of a rarity. The chop aside, I would think it was yixing. They must have brought in some craftsmen from yixing. Re: Henan purple clay and other non-yixing zisha
Interesting article and thank you for sharing photos of the catalogue. While I know zisha exist outside of Yixing, this is the first time I saw pictures of published catalogue. Here is a pot which I suspect it was produced in Hunan as it has a Hunan TongGuan chop and Hunan also has zisha. The clay t...

Re: liu an/ luk on/ lok on
Drinking an early 2000 Liu An tea today. It's quite an interesting tea. It has the taste of an aged/old green tea. The tea broth scent reminded me of dried seaweed. It's a very forgiving tea to brew like most hei cha. It's a matter of time, this tea will stain my duanni pot

Re: What's this midline on certain vintage factory Yixing teapots?
WhisperingFrog192 I believe it depends on shapes and the evolution of mold made pot. If you get your hands on a modern mold made UFO super flat pot, it’s still made with top and down joint together. Craftsmanship expectation is much higher now in comparison to a few decades ago, so you won’t find t...

@DMI
The puerh cake was produced by 昆明易坤茗茶庄 using materials/tea leaves from Bulang mountain.
The red tea seems to be a Yunnan sun dried red tea made from wild ancient tree from 大雪山/big snow mountain.

Re: The Porcelain Thread
I'm guessing B is the factory gaiwan due to it looking higher quality on the print, but I could see how the lighter one could be older too. I just feel modern rice grain stuff I see is so janky, but I also don't see that flower pattern used much then either. now I am curious sheep.payday2 I am also...
